Discover the new episode of our video series "People Of Altametris" !
An opportunity for you to discover the people behind the company.
In the last video, you discovered le métier de télépilote avec Fabien.
This time, meet Julien, a young engineer who joined us over a year ago to strengthen the Altametris Suite product management team.
He introduces you to his role as a product owner.
What does the job of a product owner entail on a daily basis at Altametris?
"There isn't really a typical day. It all depends on where we are in the projects. In the upstream phase of a project, for example, we'll be more in contact with the client.
We'll try to understand their needs, their expectations; their deep needs. We'll really try to understand the problem they're trying to solve.
And when the project is more mature, we'll collaborate with the technical teams to develop this solution. We'll still keep in touch with the client."
What are the qualities required to be a good product owner?
"In my opinion, a good product owner is someone who knows how to listen and synthesize both the client's needs and the technical constraints of the development teams.
This allows for a good balance. Technical skills will also be required.
Indeed, Altametris is a company with a railway and industrial DNA, and there will be a strong need for technical understanding of the client's needs."
What are Altametris' strengths in terms of R&D?
"For me, Altametris' strength lies in being a company that offers both products and services.
Products in the web sense: the client can upload their data and then process it via automatic algorithms on our online platform.
And also services: that's Altametris' expertise. We have drone pilots, surveyors, experts in concrete, etc., who bring their vision and expertise to all the subjects we deal with."
